So, we are looking for evidence to link both branches together. This can be done with a DNA test. More specifically, a Y-DNA test that can determine whether the two individuals (Pieter and Pieter Ynzes) are half-brothers. Descendants of both individuals are known, see elsewhere on this site.
Do you recognize your ancestors from one of the branches? You can help by providing a small sample of cheek cells for a DNA test.
For this, individuals (men!) are needed from both branches. The test is simple: a cotton swab is used to collect some cheek cells, which are then sterilized, packaged, and sent. The results will be known after a few weeks.
No matter what the result is, it will definitely be a breakthrough!
